Participating in World Cups and AFC Asian Cups taught me that at the elite level of football, details are decisive. At this level, the difference is not physical capacity, but the quality of mental preparation, clarity of roles, and pressure management. I learned that planning must be simple yet precise, decisions fast yet information-driven, and that the calmness of the coaching staff directly transfers to player performance. International football taught me how to make minimal but correct decisions under maximum pressure.

You have worked across national teams and club football, from Persepolis FC to China League One. What are the key differences in daily work and decision-making between international football and club football?

The main difference lies in time and depth of intervention.

In national teams, time is limited, and the objective is to achieve the highest level of tactical and mental cohesion in the shortest possible period. Decision-making relies more on individual player knowledge and rapid adaptation.

In club football, we have the opportunity to build, correct, and develop over time. Both environments have been extremely valuable to me, and I believe simultaneous experience in these two worlds gives a coach a balanced and highly practical perspective.

Your background combines coaching, scouting, analysis, and academic education. How do you integrate tactical analysis, data, and observation into your coaching philosophy today?

I view analysis as a decision-making tool. Data and video are only valuable when they can be translated into simple, actionable messages on the training ground and on matchday. My philosophy is built on combining three layers: on-field observation, video analysis, and player profiling. When these three are aligned, technical decisions become both more accurate and more executable. My academic and professional background has helped me maintain a balance between sports science and the realities of the pitch.

Having worked alongside top international coaches and within different football cultures, what leadership qualities do you believe are essential for a modern assistant coach or head coach?

In my view, the most important quality is building trust, whether as an assistant coach or a head coach. A modern coach must be a good listener, communicate clearly, and at the same time be decisive. Professional humility, teamwork, and cultural awareness are now just as important as tactical knowledge.

You are also known as a TV analyst and football educator. How important is communication and teaching in modern football, both within the dressing room and toward the public?

Effective communication is the foundation of modern football. Today’s player needs to understand why something is done, not just what to do. Whether in the dressing room, on the pitch, or even in the media, if the message is not clear and honest, even the best technical ideas will fail.

Looking ahead, what kind of club or national team project would best suit your profile, and what can decision-makers expect from you as part of their technical staff?

I am interested in projects that have vision, structure, and professional patience, whether at club or national team level. Environments where player development, technical clarity, and teamwork are priorities. Decision-makers can expect from me commitment, attention to detail, an analytical mindset, and full cooperation within the club’s or federation’s objectives. I see myself as part of the solution, not merely an individual role within the coaching staff.
