A Global Vision for Football Coaching
Football has never been more international. Players move across continents, clubs recruit globally and technology continues to transform the game.
Coaching should evolve in the same way.
Supported by respected football figures including Vicente del Bosque, Simone Inzaghi and Erol Bulut, the World Coaches Association was created to provide coaches with a lifelong professional ecosystem that extends far beyond traditional coaching licences.
We believe great coaches are not only tacticians. They are leaders, educators, mentors and role models who shape the future of football both on and off the pitch.

Here’s our Exclusive Interview with WCA CEO Erik Alonso
What inspired the creation of the World Coaches Association, and what gap in football coaching does it aim to fill?
During the last decade I have had the opportunity to work with clubs, coaches, investors and football organisations in different countries. One thing became increasingly clear to me: coaches are among the most important people in football, yet once they complete their coaching licences, many are left to navigate their careers alone.
Finding international opportunities, building professional networks, accessing continuous education and connecting with clubs abroad remains a significant challenge.
That is why we created the World Coaches Association.
We are not here to replace federations or existing coaching licences. They play a fundamental role in coach education. Our role begins where those programmes often end. We want to accompany coaches throughout their professional journey by providing education, networking, career support and international opportunities within one global community.
Football has become a global industry. Coaching should have a global ecosystem too.
How does the WCA’s interactive platform help coaches continue their professional development beyond traditional coaching courses?
Receiving a coaching licence should never mark the end of learning.
Football evolves every season, and coaches need to evolve with it.
Our platform provides continuous education through webinars, masterclasses, coaching resources, tactical analysis and practical content created by experienced professionals from different areas of football.
Beyond education, we are building an international community where coaches can exchange ideas, collaborate and establish valuable professional relationships.
Some of the best opportunities in football come through trusted networks, and we want every WCA member to become part of one.
What makes WCA certifications unique, and how do they benefit coaches looking to advance their careers internationally?
Our certifications reflect the realities of modern football.
Technical knowledge is essential, but successful coaches also require leadership, communication, adaptability and a clear coaching philosophy.
Our programmes evaluate those qualities while encouraging continuous professional development.
At the same time, certification becomes part of a wider international ecosystem where coaches gain greater visibility within a growing network of clubs, academies and football organisations.
Knowledge creates value, but visibility creates opportunity.
The WCA helps coaches achieve both.
Can you tell us about the role that world-renowned coaches play in the WCA’s educational programmes and how members benefit from their experience?
Having respected football figures such as Vicente del Bosque, Simone Inzaghi and Erol Bulut involved in the WCA brings enormous value to our members.
They have managed elite players, competed at the highest level and experienced the realities of modern football over many years.
Their contribution goes beyond sharing tactical knowledge. They provide practical insights into leadership, decision-making, communication and the daily challenges of coaching at the highest level.
Learning directly from people who have achieved success in world football offers a perspective that cannot be replicated through textbooks alone.
What is your vision for the future of the World Coaches Association, and how do you see it shaping the next generation of football coaches worldwide?
Our vision is clear.
We want the World Coaches Association to become the world’s leading professional community for football coaches.
Not simply another educational organisation, but the place where coaches build careers, develop international relationships and continue learning throughout their professional lives.
Over the coming years we will continue expanding our partnerships with clubs, academies and football organisations while embracing new technologies that can enhance coach education and professional development.
Ultimately, football will always depend on great coaches.
Better coaches develop better players, stronger clubs and healthier football ecosystems.
If the World Coaches Association can help create those coaches around the world, then we will have achieved exactly what we set out to build.
